YOGA
I came to yoga as a way to find inner calm and refuge from my hectic, busy New York City life. Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word "yuj" meaning to yoke, join or unite. Yoga integrates the mind, body and breath- through the physical practice you develop a strong, open body and through the mindfulness practice you develop a clear and focused mind. As you cultivate this union, you create strength, stability and clarity, which is carried into all aspects of life.
In our sessions, I will lead you through a juicy, rigorous series of yoga poses choreographed in an organic flow, influenced from my years as a professional choreographer. You can expect to feel your body, mind and breath become spaciously grounded and opened, creating a deeper sense of balance and connection to self. This integrated, more peaceful sense of self then radiates outward towards others and enables an opportunity for more compassionate, genuine and thoughtful relationships.
Some of the many benefits of yoga include:
Enhanced energy
More spacious breath
Long, articulate muscles
Improved concentration
Improved Posture/ balance
Stress management coping techniques
Deeper sleep
Improved circulation
Decrease in weight
Overall deeper connection to self and others
Physical and mental strength
More genuinely engaged with life
Overall sense of ease
